Grand Lawn Cemetery welcomes thousands of visitors every year from near and far. Most visit loved ones, while many come to experience the historic and peaceful nature of the Cemetery. At over a century-old, this cemetery holds much of the history of the local area within its borders.
Founded in 1908, Grand Lawn Cemetery features a beautiful landscape on 175 acres with the Rouge River running through the middle of the cemetery. Grand Lawn is in west Detroit, on the southeast corner of Grand River Avenue and Telegraph Road, bordering McNichols Road on its south side and just a few miles west of Southfield Freeway. A rich history and strong reputation as one of Metro-Detroit's most visited cemeteries ensures Grand Lawn Cemetery will be here for centuries to come.
